Are your lunchtime meals feeling a bit uninspired? If you’re ready to elevate your midday routine, this Curried Chicken Salad Wrap is the perfect solution! With a delightful blend of savory and sweet flavors, it’s sure to bring excitement back to your lunch break.
This Curried Chicken Salad Wrap combines the comforting richness of chicken salad with the bold, aromatic flavors of curry. The addition of raisins and a touch of sweet apricot jam brings a unique and satisfying sweetness that contrasts beautifully with the spices. Plus, using precooked chicken makes this recipe a breeze to prepare, making it an ideal option for busy days.

The Inspiration
I am a serious chicken salad lover. As a devoted fan, I can’t get enough of how versatile and convenient it is. It’s one of those dishes that’s incredibly easy to whip up, perfect for meal prepping, and offers endless opportunities for flavor experimentation.
The inspiration for this particular Curried Chicken Salad Wrap comes from a rather special place—my stepdad. Funny enough, his last name is Curry and he absolutely loves curry spice. During my last visit home, this was his first request and we meal prepped it for family vacation!
I love how the aromatic spice of curry melds with the sweet ingredients of raisins and apricot jam, creating a contrast that elevates the chicken salad to a new level.
Finding Gluten Free Tortilla:
Finding a large gluten free tortilla is HARD. For smaller things like tacos, I stick to corn tortillas since they’re gluten free in their natural form.
When putting together a wrap, you really need that large “flour” tortilla. For this recipe, I turned to Siete’s Grain Free Burrito Wrap. Although there are others on the market, this wrap has the cleanest ingredients.
Before rolling your wrap, make sure to warm it in the microwave for about 15 second to prevent ripping.
This wrap does include coconut flour so if you are not able to have coconut, this one won’t be for you. Another great option is to use gluten free bread. I personally love the Canyon Bakehouse brand.
Alternate Additions to a Curried Chicken Salad
- Apricots: Since we’re using apricot jam in this salad, why not add fresh apricots for an extra burst of flavor?
- Grapes: For a Waldorf salad twist, try adding grapes. They’ll provide a sweet contrast to the curry and complement the apples beautifully.
- Cucumber: Cucumbers pair wonderfully with curry, adding a refreshing crunch to balance the rich, spicy flavors of the salad. They’re a great way to add a bit more freshness.
- Herbs: Fresh herbs like parsley, cilantro, and chives elevate the flavor of chicken salad. Their vibrant, fresh notes enhance the dish and add a burst of green.
- Seeds: If you’re looking to add crunch, sunflower or pumpkin seeds are a great choice. They might not fit my personal diet, but they’d add a delightful texture to the salad!
